A Level Year 12 & 13

Year 12 & 13

Students follow the AQA specification. The course is divided into two different units which not only cover different periods of History but also examine different historical skills.

Students take 2 exams at the end of year 13. They will also submit one piece of coursework of 4000 words.

The English Revolution: This is an in depth British History investigating the reign of Charles I 1625-1660.

Tsarist and Communist Russia, 1855-1964: This is a breadth study comparing the different leaders and their impact on society.

Students complete one piece of coursework which is 4000 words on why people were persecuted for witchcraft during the 16thand 17th centuries. This unit makes up 20% of the A’ Level course. There is no exam for this unit.
