Computing

At Abbot Beyne we believe that Information and communication technology (ICT) is more vital now than ever. Therefore we must ensure that young people have a knowledge and understanding of hardware and software, and also that they can harness the power of the Internet and the rapidly expanding world of digital communications. By giving them the skills and confidence to use ICT effectively, we are making it easier for them to find good jobs.

The school has 3 main computer rooms, each with 25 PC’s, dedicated to the teaching of discrete ICT. Math, English and Science each have a room with 16 PC’s specifically for use within those subjects. The Learning Centre is equipped with 40 PC’s and a laptop trolley with 16 PC’s provides a mobile resource. In addition to this there are clusters of computers in all other subject areas across the school.
