Keyworker Survey

All UK schools are to close from Friday until further notice, the education secretary, Gavin Williamson, has announced.

The closures will apply for all students except for children of key workers and children considered to be the most vulnerable (this includes any child with an Allocated Social Worker or any child with an Educational Health Care Plan).

If you are a key worker this includes:

  • Armed Forces Personnel
  • Firefighters and other related staff in the Fire and Rescue Services
  • Local Authority staff (some qualify such as Environmental Health Officers etc)
  • NHS workers involved in clinical work such as doctors, nurses, paramedics, ambulance drivers
  • Police officers, including Community Support Officers and some civilian staff
  • Prison Service Staff and Probation Service Staff
  • Social Workers, Educational Psychologists and Therapists employed by Local Authorities or NHS
  • Teachers and Nursery Nurses
  • Delivery drivers working for a food provider or health care services
  • Carers working in the local community

If you are a key worker and would need your child to remain in a school during this Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak – please can you complete the below short survey so that we can look at how we can best continue provision. Please note this may include pooling (ie, children going to a different school in the local setting).

We would ask that you follow the Government advice:

  1. If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be.
  2. If a child needs specialist support, is vulnerable or has a parent who is a critical worker, then educational provision will be available for them.
  3. Parents should not rely for childcare upon those who are advised to be in the stringent social distancing category such as grandparents, friends, or family members with underlying conditions.
  4. Parents should also do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue to spread the virus. They should observe the same social distancing principles as adults.
